Governance

In Progress...

Approach

The BHC will strengthen cross-sector partnerships, engage in transparent governance, and develop collaborative initiatives informed by best practices, data, and community feedback to reduce stigma, improve access to behavioral health services, support harm reduction, and promote prevention. We will coordinate resources efficiently to address service gaps, maximize funding opportunities, and respond adaptively to the evolving needs of Jefferson County residents.

Land Acknowledgement

We acknowledge that these waters, mountains, valleys and shorelines are the traditional territory of the S’Klallam and Chemakum peoples. Throughout broader Jefferson County, we are on the ancestral homelands of many different tribes of the Olympic Peninsula. We honor the history of these indigenous peoples and their descendants who are with us today. However, land acknowledgements and statements are only one small part of taking responsibility, therefore we invite you to join us in our commitment to actively support and work for justice for indigenous people.
