Jefferson Healthcare

Jefferson Healthcare Primary Care behavioral health specialists (Licensed Independent Clinical Social Workers) work closely with primary care providers (doctors, nurse practitioners, physician assistants) and psychiatric consultants to provide coordinated, convenient and cost-effective behavioral health services for our patients within their primary care clinics. Our psychiatric consultants can provide additional support with diagnostic clarification and recommendations around medication and psychotherapy. Our psychiatric consultants meet with our behavioral health specialists weekly to discuss patient care and track progress over time using a registry. They then make recommendations to the primary care providers about the next steps in care. They can also see patients in person for 1–3 brief consultation appointments to discuss their needs further. Our psychiatric consultants do not see patients on an ongoing basis.

Jefferson County Public Health (JCPH) provides essential programs and services to help protect and improve the health of our community. We are always working to make Jefferson County a safer and healthier place to live, work and play.

The mission of the Addictions, Drug & Alcohol Institute is to advance research, policy and practice in order to improve the lives of individuals and communities affected by alcohol and drug use and addiction. We believe that harms related to substance use are preventable and treatable and that research plays a vital role in developing real-world solutions. The Addictions, Drug & Alcohol Institute serves as a focal point for alcohol and drug use research at the University of Washington and in the Northwest region, benefiting the citizens of Washington State by expanding our knowledge and making information available to health and social service professionals, policy makers, as well as to the public. The Institute’s multidisciplinary staff of psychologists, epidemiologists, educators, public health experts, and information specialists work to further our understanding and reduce the harm caused by alcohol and drug use.
